In the first half of 2007, the company’s sales were already up 8% on last year. The fastest-growing market segments include nonwoven fabrics for wallcoverings and substrates for durable printing, e.g. holders for RFID chips in electronic IDs. Production capacities therefore had to be increased as a matter of urgency.

Last month saw the completion of a major project to convert paper machine 6 at a cost of EUR 2.6 million. After careful planning and tests, technicians worked round the clock for two weeks to meet the ambitious deadline. Thanks to this conversion, certain products can now be processed up to 20 % faster than before.

The new parent company Neenah Paper Inc. had approved the investment for the conversion of the paper machine shortly after the takeover in October 2006, thus sending out a positive signal for the future of the site.

New plans are already in the pipeline for 2008. An investment amounting to EUR 1 million to expand the paper finishing section has been approved and work is scheduled to start in the middle of next year.
